Gin membership.

We were packed in as tight as sardines at Ruby's - which to be fair is apt given we're in a fishing village. We actually only went there because A. Our best friend in the world, if only he knew us - Rick Stein owns it, B. They specialise in gin and champagne and C. They serve the gin in enormous glasses which really tickled our fancy. We eventually squeezed ourselves into a tiny corner and Nigel was sent to ferry the drinks back. Mere minutes later he returned with 2 classic tumblers of gin and 2 bottles of tonic - whaaaaaaaaat - where the hell are the fancy glasses? "All being" used I was told. Well that wasn't going to wash - there was no way this gin would taste any good in these common as muck glasses. We sat tight for a minute and then Nigel went back to tell them - at a push we would choke these first ones down but on the next round we wouldn't be so accomodating and if the fancy glasses weren't available - we'd be onto Rick about it. We knew that once Rick heard that Nigel(la) was in town - we'd get those glasses pronto.
