The Royal (Nigel) Albert Hall
Olivia Newton John's mate - James Newton Howard conducted his first concert last night at the Albert Hall. His first claim to fame was as Elton's keyboard player, back in the day when Elton still wore the platform shoes, the Dame Edna glasses and had just enough hair left on his head to make a small fringe. James eventually got sick of watching Elton lovingly stroke David Furnish's beard and turned to composing film scores instead - King Kong being one of his biggest and also where he had to do a fair bit of beard stroking himself to appease Peter Jackson's expectations. Anyway last night was absolutely frisking amazing - the Albert Hall is immense and the size of it, coupled with the fabulous orchestra and the lovely film tunes had me crying for at least the first 20 minutes. After that, Nigel produced a mini Magnum from his coat pocket and that kept me quiet at least until the interval.

Holy Moley
We're literally scraping the bottom of the barrel now when it comes to museums. We've visited all the top ones, so we're now unearthing all the slightly more underground AKA unpopular ones and you can always tell when they're off the tour guide as they are FREE. This one is called The Grant Museum of Zoology and is stuffed to the gills with pickled bits of dead animals. I was particularly taken with the moles of which there was a huge jar of them - all packed in nice and tightly together. I bet Heston Blumenthal could make a lovely starter with these - a squirt of liquid nitrogen, a go round in the sous vide, a dab of parsley foam and a few dead moles would replace a fat duck any day.
A train of 2 halves
Nigel tickled pink to find a fellow Kiwi and All Black supporter on the train.
Luckily we weren't on the circle line or they'd have relived the 2015 world cup final forever.
